Hello! I’m Jared Sullivan. I’m the author of VALLEY SO LOW (Knopf), which won the 2025 Tennessee Book Award for nonfiction. It was also named one of the year’s best books by The New Yorker and received positive reviews from The New York Times and The New York Review of Books, among other outlets.

I was formerly an editor for Men’s Journal and Field & Stream. I’m now an editor for Wealthsimple Magazine and its Webby Award-winning finance newsletter, TLDR. I’ve written for The Atlantic, Garden & Gun, Oxford American, The New Yorker, and Time, among many other publications. I live outside Nashville, Tennessee, with my family.
